ABOUT

Harry Spinks - Founder and Consultation Farrier

It all started after…

…training and working in Oxfordshire, England. I finally completed my modern apprenticeship in Farriery, in 2014 with with Ben Benson AWCF – Olympic Farrier and World Class Program professional.

After completing my apprenticeship I continued to work with Ben. This meant I was able to consolidated my skillset and advance my ability to apply contemporary techniques.

Over the span of my professional career, my aptitude for shoeing has allowed me to work on many world class horses, across various disciplines. I am well versed in the use of modern materials for expert foot repair. I have a particular interest in Competition Horses and Remedial Shoeing.

Career Highlight

My passion and expertise led to me be asked to attend the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, as a Farrier on the International Olympic Committee. I was able to work with the highest level horses, in their respective disciplines. Although this was an amazing opportunity one of my favourite everyday parts of the job is making lame horses sound and working on laminitis to get them back up and going again.

Extra Curricular pursuits

I consider continued professional development an extremely important. Therefore, I regularly attend CPD, to keep up-to-date on all emerging practices in all aspects of shoeing and trimming and I am currently working towards my DipHe in farriery.

I also thoroughly enjoy giving talks and demos, having Lectured both in the UK and Internationally. This sharing of knowledge continues via an active Social Media presence, where I document our daily work, on a wide range of horses.
